Comparisons can be made over a period of time after you have made changes to your health.
Urine Tests

*Vitamin C Deficiency
Adequate amounts of Vitamin C are essential for immune function, adrenal function, cholesterol regulation, maintenance of collagen and connective tissues, wound repair, anti-oxidation, anti-inflammation, mineral transport (calcium, iron and copper), detoxification of drugs, pollutants, etc., brain function affecting mood.

Many different factors can affect the use of Vitamin C (e.g. infection, stress, pollution, degenerative disease, shock, the pill, etc). It takes time to build up adequate levels of Vitamin C in body tissues.

A urine sample is collected first thing in the morning before breakfast and placed in a specimen jar. A specific test is applied to the sample to determine if any Vitamin C deficiencies are evident.

*Gastrointestinal Dysbiosis
This simple test reflects the state of intestinal dysbiosis described as an imbalance of good and bad bacteria. A disturbance in this balance may cause the following symptoms: constipation, diarrhoea, flatulence, bloating, belching, reflux, poor immunity, poor absorption of nutrients, gut pain, allergies, food sensitivities/intolerances, lethargy, fatigue, undigested food in stools, foul smelling stools, diseases such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

For the purpose of this test a urine sample is collected first thing in the morning before breakfast.

Zinc Test
Zinc is an essential micro-mineral found in all organs, tissues and body fluids. It is required in the activity of several hundred enzyme systems of the body. Zinc deficiencies are often seen in the following situations:

* growth and developmental retardation
* skeletal abnormalities
* delayed sexual maturation
* defective collagen synthesis
* skin rashes/dermatitis
* poor wound healing
* chronic and severe diarrhoea
* immune system deficiencies
* impaired taste sensation
* impaired smell sensation
* night blindness
* behavioural disturbances, depression
* corneal problems
* chronic infections
* alopecia (hair loss)
* impaired protein synthesis
* problems with testosterone and sperm permeability

The zinc test involves taking 10mls of liquid zinc which is held in the mouth for about 10 seconds. Lack of sensitivity to the taste will indicate deficiencies.
